Working to create both some weapon meshes, texturing them inside of Substance Painter, exporting the textures into Unreal and compositing the materials together inside of Unreal Engine 5.

I wanted to make some small scale hard surface meshes to stretch my skills and improve in both my weapon design and hard surface modelling.

Starting with a simple Frag Grenade, the FPG-130 Fragmentation Grenade is the most basic version of throwable weapons inside my Fatesight game project.

I began modelling inside of Blender, choosing the Frag Grenade to start this small project with as a grenade is a very simple object to create, and gave me a mesh to use for texturing, which was the main goal; to practice my texturing skills inside of Substance Painter.

Design wise I had a challenge to come up with a design that was both unique, but still recognisable as a grenade. I wanted to avoid the typical ball shaped, modern frag grenade shape, going for a more cylindrical design, with the lever and pin that is very common on grenades to give it that recognisability.
