Whilst there isn’t much I am able to share of my work in Esperanza publicly yet, we have released the Glimpse of Esperanza taster area in game, and so I can share the assets I worked to create for the Art kit.

This is not the full extent of my work in Esperanza, with it being the first level I helmed fully myself, I worked to create the landscape layer system, oversaw other artists and their additions to the art kit, and both oversaw and worked on the laying out and creating of the environment itself utilising the art kit.

Esperanza is based off the wild west of America, California, Colorado, Arizona, Monument Valley - and as such these were the areas I looked at when gathering references and ideas for the art kit. I wanted to make sure we still had a good amount of natural green and colourful assets, even when tasked with such a bleak and desert like area to draw inspiration from, at least in first thought. The wild west wasn’t just the desert, dust and sandstone cliffs, extending into America’s heartlands too.

Screenshots of assets I produced for the Esperanza Region. Like the work I did for Solace, a lot of my assets were trees and cacti, utilising nanites strength to create physical details like the leaves and needles.
